Walter C. Langsam Library
ABOUT
The Walter C. Langsam Library, the central library, contains over 1,000,000 volumes in the social sciences and humanities, as well as over 200,000 volumes in government depository collections of state, federal and international documents. Many library services are housed in Langsam Library, including LibraryIT, Library Instruction and general reference services. The Writing Center, the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CET&L) and the Faculty Enrichment Center call Langsam home.
The Desk @ Langsam
Situated to your left as you enter Langsam Library's ground level (the 4th floor,) staff and student assistants at The Desk @ Langsam assist users with finding titles and resources, checking out materials, answering their questions about, well, anything, and learning more about what UC Libraries has to offer the UC community.
A book drop for the return of materials can be found in the outer lobby of Langsam and in the plaza outside of the revolving door.

On the 4th floor, Langsam Living Room provides a variety of seating and study spaces.
Quiet Study Spaces
Quiet study spaces with tables and desks are available around the borders of the 5th and 6th floors, no reservation required.
Starbucks @ Langsam
Starbucks @ Langsam provides coffee and more at the 4th floor across from the Reference Desk.
Prayer and Meditation Room
The Prayer and Meditation Room (Langsam Room 451) is a quiet space for prayer and reflection, created in collaboration with Student Government and open to all.

- A public access terminal for visitors, located on the 4th floor behind the Security Guard station

- Lactation Room
- UC provides designated Lactation Rooms across campus to faculty, staff, students, and visitors in need of a private space to express milk or nurse. The room is locked from the inside and offers electrical outlets for breast pumps and provides a comfortable place to sit. For access, obtain the key from The Desk@Langsam or call Public Safety's Technical Services at (513) 556-4925.
Technology Spaces
Esports Zone @ Langsam
Gaming computers are now available on the 4th floor of the Walter C. Langsam Library!
The Esports Zone @ Langsam includes five computers with pre-installed, free-to-play video games. Each desktop is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, an Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 Processor 285K and 32GB of DDR5 RAM
The computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Log in with UC credentials to access the full game collection.
4th Floor Computer Lab
The 4th floor of Langsam Library has a computer lab with plenty of desktops and plug-in stations for your laptop—just grab a spot, no reservation needed.
Sound Booth
Langsam’s Sound Booth is a WhisperRoom® sound isolation booth which offers advanced noise reduction for audio recording. Reserve the Sound Booth on 25Live. It is located on the 4th floor of Langsam Library near the Langsam Living Room and behind the Data & Visualization Classroom wall of monitors.
Green Screen Room
Langsam also has a Green Screen Room with lights for producing videos. The Green Screen Room is located on the 4th floor of Langsam in Room 414.
DTS Tech HelpDesk
Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) offers a technology helpdesk located on the 4th floor of Langsam across from the circulation desk. Hours for the technology helpdesk may vary.
